Types are user definable. Several pre-defined types are supplied, for some common C types: structures, variable and fixed length arrays, integer types, variable and fixed length strings, IP addresses, etc. A netgraph node type may provide a list of types that correspond to the structures it expects to send and receive in the arguments field of a control message.
